Abstract


A survey was conducted with students at departments related to health science (clinical pathology, radiology, dental laboratory technology, dental hygiene, physical therapy, and occupational therapy) in D College from October 15 to November 15, 2008, followed by analysis of satisfaction with their departments and department selection factors, drawing the following conclusions. 1. As for major satisfaction among students at department related to health science, 48.8% said so-so and 36.3% were satisfied, showing significant differences in major satisfaction by major departments (p<.001).
2. As for major department selection in consideration of occupation as a factor for selecting the department, 37.7% said so-so and 32.6% agreed (p<.05). 3. As for major department selection considering academic achievements, 34.8% said so-so and 32.0% agreed (p<.01); in terms of employment, 50.3% agreed and 22.4% totally agreed (p<.001). 4. In selecting a department related to health science, 43.7% were found to consider possibility of development (p<.01); in terms of the prospects for employment, 43.5% said so-so and 33.0% were encouraged (p<.001). 5. As for major department selection considering interest and aptitude, 45.4% said so-so, showing significant differences (p<.01).
